My husband will be my number two. Repeat after me: my husband will be my number two. No really say it out loud and get it ingrained in your mind: “My husband will be my number two!” Wait… what? Did I just tell you to say that the love of your life will be your number two? Well, wait for this… I’m not only saying that, but I’m also saying that the love of your life is already in your life, and He should be your number one!

Yep, that’s right ladies, let’s make a promise to put our relationship with God before our relationship with our (future) husbands. God should be first in our lives. Don’t you want to marry a man who loves Him more than you? If He is first in my husbands life, I find that to be a great thing! It’s not like your man loves Xbox or football more than you. He is loving Jesus more than you! And I don’t think any girl could complain about being second best to Him.

I hope for a man who loves God more than me. I’m not saying it’s a competition of who loves God more, my husband or me… I’m saying I hope for a man who loves God MORE than he loves ME. He puts Him first in his life and me second.

The way I see it, if my husband…cough cough FUTURE husband puts me second and Him first I will be following his lead. If he (future hubby) is leading towards Him, then I am following towards Him. See how that works? Even better…check this out: If I put God first and my husband second he will be following me, therefore following Him! If both of us are rooted in Christ, then following Him should be an awesome journey.

I can’t wait to start seeking my #1 with my #2!
