This might seem kind of crazy considering the type of blog you have, But I find it very inspiring to read your posts and you seem really positive, so I want to ask… if one was an escort or sold her body for money (to provide for her 3 kids) and now has quit because she had another baby… and has done 2 years of college… how exactly can one feel good about herself and get respect for herself back given what she’s done in the past and how let down god must be in her… if Jesus truly forgives… What is your perspective on this and how can a person find a husband/live life for god after such an existence??
Do you want to know my favorite part about Jesus Christ? We’re all forgiven. Everyone is forgiven. A lot of times people look to the old testament thinking they should be stoned to death for their sins, not realizing that the ultimate sacrifice was already given, by Jesus Christ.
Jesus has always been love. Throughout the bible we constantly see him show grace and forgiveness. We just refuse to believe it, mainly because it seems too good to be true. Since the day we were born, we were trained to mistrust the unbelievable. But here’s the good news — It’s in the bible, written for you to read over and over again — “you’re forgiven!”
So, if you have a past of being an escort? Don’t think God can’t forgive you… As if you are different than everyone else. Throughout the bible God forgave prostitutes (over and over again, no matter how many times they failed) and used them for great good. It’s important to remember that God judges us differently than people judge us. God is forgiving, and most people are not… and if they call themselves “Christians” and judge you, then they must have skipped the whole New Testament of the bible, and flipped right to the Old, passing everything Jesus intended to teach them about love and forgiveness. Jesus throughout the bible showed love to drunkards, thieves, and murders… you name it.
In the bible there is a story about Hosea. Hosea was told to marry a prostitute, and he married Gomer. He fell madly in love with her and they had children together. One day, Gomer began to feel just like you, that somehow she didn’t deserve a life of love and acceptance, so she sabotaged it, and left Hosea to return to her old life. After some time, God told Hosea to go find Gomer and bring her back. When Hosea found Gomer, she was in complete despair, battered and abused, and, with open arms, Hosea took her back again. This biblical story is a perfect example of God’s perfect love. We are all sinners, and we fail over and over again, but God always takes us back, no matter what we do, as long as we are sincere in wanting to change.
God used a prostitute to show this love. Do NOT think He couldn’t give you a special purpose also!
God has such great plans for you. Our past trials mold us and make us stronger. They teach us that no matter how hard we hit the ground, we can always get back up again. And when we fail, God’s open arms show us just how much he loves us, and how he never turns his back on us. “God will never leave us or forsake us,” (Hebrews 13:5).
I think the first step is — you need to believe you have real value. You need to believe God truly forgave you, because He died on that cross for you, so that you could be washed “white as snow.”
The right man is out there for you, and if he truly loves the Lord, and you do also, he will be forgiving, like Jesus calls us to be. Love makes you look past the bad, and it opens your eyes to all the good. You’re an amazing person; I can see that from the love of your children, you’re desire to better yourself, your desire for truth and knowledge, and the BRAVE step you’ve taken to leave your past and move into new and unknown territory. I’m sure you have many other great qualities – a man would be crazy not to see them!
